The Chinese Chippendale Display Cabinet is classic chinoiserie, the tradition of interpreting Asian design through a European lens. Its octagonal mouldings, brass escutcheons and pairing of long and short doors with wavy, seedy glass are inspired by pieces dating from 1760s England.
