Cime Carpet Collection

Description

Designer: Zanellato/Bortotto

The “Cime” carpet collection by Saba uses carpets as canvases to express the values of memory and poetry. Designed by Zanellato/Bortotto, known for their collaboration with the company, the collection merges artisanal traditions with contemporary aesthetics. Inspired by lugsails from the Adriatic, the carpets feature graphics symbolising the sails of Venetian fishermen, particularly from Chioggia. They employ the ancient Sardinian Pibiones technique, preserved by the Mariantonia Urru laboratory, known for its quality craftsmanship and natural dyeing methods using wool from white and black sheep. The collection includes carpets that narrate stories through natural wool tones, showcasing a blend of heritage and innovation.
